John Reiser/Rieser Switzerland >Sauk WI
I am working on research of John Riser and his wife Francisca and their family. Both were born in Switzerland and came to America about 1854. John settled in Sauk Co. WI by the 1860 census.
John was one of six children and was referred to by his family as "John the Elder.", three stayed in Switzerland while John and two others came to American, his sister Mary Catherine and brother John Ulrich settled in Ohio.
John age 54 and Francisca age 55 were living in the Wilson Creek area of Sauk Co. WI on the 1860 census in the household of their son John Jr. age 35 and his wife Magdalena age 32 and their children John age 2 and Magdalena age 11 months.
In 1870 and 1880 John Sr. age 74 and Fransica age 75 are living in their own household inTroy Twp. Sauk Co., Wisconsin.I have not been able to find John Jr. and his family.
Another possible son of John and Fransica was Ulrich Riser and his wife Elizabeth who I found listed on the 1860 census in Franklin Twp., Sauk Co., Wisconsin with the post office of Plain.I have not found them on other censuses. Ulrich has two daughters listed on the 1870 census both age 4 Elizabeth and Emilre [at least that is what it looks like]
Does anyone have any information on any of these Rieser/Reiser/Riser in there data?
I have a lot more information on the siblings of John Sr. and his parents and will share what I have.
I would greatly any help on any of these Risers in WI.
Thanks, Connie
