Sun, The (Baltimore, MD) - April 2, 1997 Deceased Name: Charles W. Reinhardt II 71, public schoolteacher Charles W. Reinhardt II, who taught in Baltimore public schools, died of a heart attack Monday at his West Baltimore home. He was 71. Mr. Reinhardt, a 1943 graduate of Southern High School who started his teaching career there in the early 1950s, retired in the mid-1970s as a teacher at the former Community College of Baltimore. Before he left the city school system for CCB in the late 1960s, he had been head of the social studies department at Northwestern High School. After he retired, he was coordinator of the continuing education department at Anne Arundel Community College until the mid-1980s. The Baltimore native served in the Army from 1944 to 1946, and then earned a bachelor's degree in 1949 and a master's in 1953, both from the Johns Hopkins University. In 1961, he won the Valley Forge Freedom Foundation Classroom Teacher's Medal and was awarded the History Teachers Association of Maryland Distinguished Service Award in 1970. Services will be held at 9 a.m. today at Witzke Funeral Home, 1630 Edmondson Ave. He is survived by an aunt, Marie Kuehn of Baltimore; and two cousins, Charlotte Blum of Baltimore and Carol Moore of Davidsonville.
