Sun, The (Baltimore, MD) - March 28, 1991 Deceased Name: Charles Reinhardt Retired Sun pressman Services for Charles G. Reinhardt, a retired pressman for The Baltimore Sun, will be held at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at the Johnson Funeral Home, 8521 Loch Raven Blvd. Mr. Reinhardt, who was 78, died Tuesday of heart failure at his home on Water Oak Road in Parkville. Known by a boyhood nickname, "Cookie,'' he retired 13 years ago after working for nearly 50 years in the pressroom, where he was, for a time, a foreman. Born in Baltimore but reared in Shipley, he was a graduate of Glen Burnie High School. During his student days, he made deliveries for his father's grocery store and one day pushed a man's car out of a snowdrift. The man turned out to be the superintendent of the pressroom. During World War II, he served as an airplane mechanic in the Army Air Forces, and he later liked to repair automobiles as well as take photographs and work in his darkroom. Mr. Reinhardt was a member of the Arnolia United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Laverne Dawkins; and a sister, Mildred Sporny of Newark, Del.
