Hi Maria,
First item - There may be more than one Gen. Reilly under discussion in this thread, and if so, I apologize for confusing the issue.
The court fight over the estate of Civil War Gen. Reill(e)y took place at Lisbon, OH in Oct. 1909, and was called McVeigh v McVeigh. My only clipping is the Salem (OH) News on Oct 25. Thomas O'Gorman testified, quoting the General that his relatives came from Swanlinba, Co. Cavan, that he had but one brother, James, and that an uncle James had settled in Canada; all this "produced a visible stir among the attorneys in this case who had the general's father located in other counties of Ireland." I believe Thomas O'Gorman was a relative of my Reilley line (which fits the "uncle James" description, Fermanagh via Cavan to Marlborough, ON), and he surmised that the General might be related. Me too, but I'm not convinced.
