My great-grandfather, James Reidy, born 1838 Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, left Ireland at a young age and joined the army in 1868 during the Idndian Wars. His mother (maiden name Egan)died when he was very young, her only child. His father may have remarried and he may have had half-siblings in Tipperary. He married Bridget Flanagan (born Castlereagh, Co. Roscommon) in Geary Co. Kansas in 1885.
