Since Charles W. is in Johnson Co, AR before and after the marriage, one might assume that is where they married.I did not locate a marriage record in AR for them.
There are some family trees on Ancestry.com that state that Charles William Reid's father was Theodore Henderson Reid and his mother Sarah Barksdale Harvey.I did not see a will or anything that would tie them together except the Sarah B. listed in the 1850 census. There was a marriage recordfor a Theodore Reid and a Sallie B. Harvey 5/22/1814 Charlotte Co, VA.Sallie is sometimes a nickname for Sarah. There were several other children listed on the family tree for this union along with the 4 listed on the 1850 census. Also more of the ancestral line.
If you live in the Houston TX area, there is an excellent genealogy library there.I believe the name of it is Anderson Clayton Library, it is located off downtown in an older section. There are 2 buildings. One is in an old plantation style house which houses books on many families. Some consist mainly of census records, others tell various stories about the family. Some have mistakes in them as we all are human, or sometimes the researcher follows a wrong path. The other building houses many records of almost every kind, including books on counties which include various records and I don't remember what all.It has been several years since I was there last.
To find more out about John Wallace Reid's car accident; you might contact the Baylor Co. seat, or Seymour City Hall to see if you might be able to locate a copy of any newspaper article that might have been published about the accident. These copies are sometimes kept at a county library or museum.I am not real familiar with that area as to what they might or might not have. There is a good possibility that an area paper might have carried the story.Sometimes you have to go and search through stuff for yourself to get the articles.
Hope you have luck in locating what you are searching for with your Reid family.Mine has come to a brick wall in LA, but am still hoping that someday that wall will tumble.
