Have you tried to find Elizabeth Reid in the 1851 census? Not familiar with New Brunswick, but cannot find "Wiliams Town" using google. Did you mean Williamsburg in York co NB?
Your best chance of tracing George and Elizabeth in UK is through records in Canada since the names Reid and Buchanan are prolific in Ireland and Scotland. Or they could have arrived in the US before Canada.
