I have quite a bit of info on the York County, SC Reids and would love to fill in some gaps.

Yes, James Carson is a son of Thomas and Mary Lusk Reid. Thomas was the son of Robert and Rebekah Gregg Reid of Antrim, Ireland.

I've got some strong anecdotal evidence about the children and grandchildren of James Carson. The household was quite irregular around the time of the civil war and I know lots of people assume some of his grandchildren were his children. This is compounded by the habit of using the same names over and over in families! EEK!

I have a 16 page report from researcher Thomas Hart from the York County Historical Society that helps some.
