My great great grandmother was Mary Reid of Borrisokane, County Tipperary. She married Patrick Loftus in Borrisokane on the 10th December 1852. Their first child Thomas was born in Borrisokane in 1853. They moved to Galway and my great grandfather James was born there.
I am trying to find the parents of Mary as they are not mentioned in the marriage entry.
From what I can gather there are a couple of possiblities in Borrisokane.
A Mary Reid was born to Andy Reid and Honora Flinn in January 1829 sponsers were Judith Murray and John Flin. (RC)
There was also a Mary born to James Reid and Charlotte Mackey in the Church of Ireland register for Roscrea.
The problem is there is no other record for Andy Reid he does not even appear in griffiths valuation. Wondered if anyone on this forum would know where I could search next.
