Reichart of Heidelberg, Germ...to PA?MD?
I'm researching the family of Anna Margaretha Reichart, dau. of Philip and Elisabetha Reichart, all of Langenzell, Heidelberg, Germany. On 27 November, 1731, she married Joh. Jacob Floesser of Hinterheubach, also near Heidelberg. Anna Margaretha was born ca. 1709.
The couple emmigrated to PA the following year, had 4 children, and about 10 years later, Anna Margaretha died. Jacob remarried, and had several more children by his second wife. Among these latter children was Christoff Floesser, who married Phebe Reichart, dau. of Wilhelm and Hannah Reichart, ca. 1772--the marriage has not been found. Phebe was born in 1757, and had her adult baptism at the Monocacy/Frederick Lutheran congregation of Frederick Co., MD., in 1775.
The Floesser family were members of Christ Lutheran in York, PA. Some of the children ended up in the Taneytown, Frederick (later Carroll) Co., MD area, while others went to VA and Baltimore, MD. Christoff has records both in Frederick and in Loudoun Co., VA.
Questions: 1. Has anyone worked on the Philip/Elisabetha Reichart line from Heidelberg? 2. Did any of their other children emmigrate to PA, and to York Co.? 3. Was Wilhelm Reichart, father of Phebe, descended from the Philip/Elisabetha group? I'm currently following other "possibles" who went from the Heidelberg/Heiligkreuzsteinach area to PA/MD/VA in the 1730-1760 period. It was not uncommon for village "groups" to follow each other....were the Floesser and Reichart families part of one such group?
