The Simon (or Simeon, perhaps) Walter(s) that I ran into was in Randolph Co. before part of it became Barbour Co. I've been unable to satisfactorily identify him, but he left children and descendants in Barbour Co. He likely came from wester MD and I believe one of his sons returned there , perhaps in the 1830s or early 1840s.
Your surname suggested you might be associated with northern WV, thus the inquiry regarding Simon and of the Gusman.
Sorry to be slow. My system has not been reliable recently and I had to switch ISPs which has been quite a disruptive process.
