It's hard to find an Edward Rehrig (or similar spelling) that fits what you are looking for. Have you tried to get Edward's death certificate or obituary? If not you can get the DC directly from the PA Div. of Vital Records. Check with the Northeastern Pennsylvania Genealogical Society in Shavertown and the Osterhout Free Library in Wilkes-Barre to see if they can help you find the obit.
The 1900 census indicates he married Elmira ca1896. His marriage record might have info on his parents. It would have been recorded at whichever county Register of Wills they got the license.
The best I could do on Noah is the 1870 mortality census which included a Noah Rerig 38 who was killed in Dec 1869 in a railroad accident. The corresponding family in the 1870 census is that of a Matilda Rerig 27 living in Franklin Twp., Carbon Co., PA. The family included Mary 9, Milton 3 and Charles 2, but no Edward to be found. I could not find Noah in the 1860 or 1850 censuses.
