I am researching William L. Reeves who married Lavina Hockersmith in Madison, KY 22 June 1826. His father was Jeremiah Reeves (marriage consent, William was underage) of Richmond, KY. The document is dated 19 June 1826; Jeremiah signed his name Reves.
A Jeremiah Reeves married Deborah Lanham in Madison KY 17 Jan 1805. If these two are my William's parents, he must have been their eldest child--William was born abt 1806.
There is a Jeremiah Reeves Senior in 1830 in Madison, 40-50 years old (1780-1790), as well as a younger Jeremiah Junior on the next page who is 30-40 years old (1790-1800) with one child under 5 and a wife 20-30 years old. I'm assuming the younger couple is Jeremiah and Sally Dooley Reeves--they married in Madison 26 Sept 1828.
I haven't found my William in 1830, but he didn't leave Madison until sometime after 1850. Lavina died before 1860 and William married second Joannah (Morton) Burnett--they are in Monroe County, Missouri in 1860.
