On the 1851 census he is seven years old and is listed as a pauper/scholar presumably in the workhouse at Gressenhall. I would love to find out who his parents were, and why he was in the workhouse, was he an orphan?. In later life he moved to Newark and then Whitby. thank you Notify Administrator about this message?
