I am Herbert's younger daughter, Glynda
I can't believe there is someone out there looking for Herbert's family. We have, over the years, tried to find his sisters but we really didn't know where to look. I can remember when we were young, Mum and Dad contacted the Salvation Army for help (after the war that is) but they couldn't find any trace either. It was then thought they had all perished in the blitz although we did here one of the sisters had moved to France. But by the looks of it, they were wrong!!!!
How fantastic! I can't believe it!
I live in Brisbane, Australia. We knew very little about Herbert's childhood, when he left England, where he landed. He was a very private person and didn't speak much about his childhood. I have traced back a little way his family, but we were more interested in finding any living relative.
A friend of mine who is tracing her familytree came across your message and rang me immediately.
I won't say anything more now. I will wait to hear from you!!
