Tying to solve a mystery. Florence was the youngest child of James (the shipbuilder) and Mary Rees She married George Sherman Scully (my mother was a Scully) during 1891. The marriage appears to have been on the rocks by 1895. Florence died in San Francisco during 1898, George in Pittsburgh during 1904. They are buried in Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh, but in the Rees and Scully lots respectively. Five months before her death Florence drew up a will. It left $75K to daughter Virginia, born in 1893, and named her (Florence's) siblings as guardians and custodians. Florence died from "neurasthenia," an old fashioned medical term indicating a nervous condition but assuredly not fatal. Some "symptons" were dizziness, tirdness, fainting, and depression. All could have been the cause of an undiagnosed medical condition. One cure was "rest," most likely the reason she was in San Francisco at the luxurious Palace Hotel. Anybody still out there familiar with these people? Notify Administrator about this message?
