A biography/family history of William R. Reel is included in "Progressive Men of the State of Montana". Parents: William A. and Sarah (Murphy) Reel, natives respectively of Kentucky and Virginia. On 28 Apr 1858, Council Bluffs, IA, William married Miss Eva M. Lawrence, a native of Enosburg, VT. Three living children: May H. (Mrs. Thomas Carmin), William A., Charles E. Deceased: Hattie E., Lulu, Louie, and an infant.
William R. Reel died 7 May 1898.
