Also, when I research U.S. databases for him and his descendants I get results for various people named John Reeder but none of the descendants shown are my ancestors, so I'm wondering if I need to look for his birth record in a British database, then look for his descendants in an American one? Perhaps the U.S. databases only work for people born in the U.S.?
