Thanks for the info. There are some flaws in the basic information; however, I was most interested in the notation by Swearington about the Cherokee land, which would account for the fact that we couldn't find any land sales until later on this family.
I still haven't figured out where they got the name Judith Townley. (a Judith Townley married Henry Reeder).Even the Ark History says Rowland.Hard proof of who he actually married is still not found. We have not found any official marriage records anywhere. Both marriages are speculatory. We have not found any grave sites of any wives for him.He is buried in Vineyard Cemetery near Evansville, Arkansas. His tombstone reads 1758-1835.The tombstone looks newer vintage, so descendents must have erected it at a later date. There is also a Revolutionary War Bronze Plaque next to the tombstone.
Micajah had the following known children:
1)Noah Reeder b 1798
2)Elizabeth Reeder b 1800
3)Micajah, Jr. b 1811 (census says b KY)
4)Probably Jacob Reeder prob b 1792 (land purchases in AR the same place as the other Reeder children)
5)Arkansas History said he had sons Daniel and Elijah but we have never located them. It does not mention Jacob.
Micajah 1790 SC Census, listed immediately next to Simeon Reeder Sr
2 males over 16
2 males under 16
1 female over 16
This would indicate that he had 3 males in his household besides himself and wife.Which would place these before the births of the known children.Regrettably, one cannot tell from the early census records (before 1850)if the household contains children or not for the over 16 and if the under 16 are his children.
We do know from the land sales records in SC that he did have a wife by the name of Judith because she placed her mark next to his.
There are no records in the census that indicate that a LeBlonde or variant spelling family was ever in VA, MC, NC, or SC while he was there. There were, however, LeBlonde families in LA about the time he was in the AR area (which was LA before it was AR).There were multitudes of Rowland/Roland families in SC in the area where he lived.
He was shown in KY in 1800, which would indicate to me that all the known children may have been born prior to going to KY except for Micajah, Jr.It has been said that Elizabeth married Jacob Chandler at the age of 15 at the home of her parents.
