I'm researching my husband's grandfather's family, the Reeds of Calhoun and Clay Co. WV. Have it back to Levi James Reed, b. 1823 in Pendleton Co. VA, but cannot make any confident connect beyond that. One source said his father was George Washington Reed, son of Jacob Reed and that somehow this family is connected to the Andrew Reed of Boothbay Maine. However, family "traditional" history says Andrew Reed was born about 1760 in Scotland and came to America with the British Army then pioneered to VA. Do you have anything that might connect these families?
