My book REEB ROOTS IN EUROPE AND AMERICA was published in 1994 and copyrighted with all rights reserved and "permission to reproduce in any form must be secured from the author." I think I have generously shared with everyone who is descended from the same common ancestor as myself and many who are not related to my Reeb family in any way. Yet my copyright has been violated by some person who evidently claims to have one of the ancestors named in my book in her lineage. For some reason that person has chosen to reproduce two paragraphs word by word exactly as they appear in my book and share this in her family tree on line without even letting me know much less asking for my permission to do so. I have now seen many family trees posted on line without documentation and in these particular trees I saw, much if not most of the Reeb information listed is from my research. Yet I have only seen one person whose name I recognize as a descendant of my Reeb ancestors. If those persons had contacted me and explained that they were members of the same Reeb family I would have gladly shared information. However, even sharing the information does not necessarily mean that permission is granted for them to post informatin taken from the published book on line or to reproduce in any way without my permission. John V. Reeb
