I found the following marriage bond stating Chany Carrick (mis spelled Cornick), not Chany Adeline Goss, married Jacob Redwine (b1819 N.C.)in 1839. Chany's head stone lists Chany G Redwine (I suspect G is for Grace, middle name). This makes sense considering Jacob and Chany are shown in the 1850 census as neighbors of the Joseph (b1793), Richard (b1812), John Jr. (b1816), James(b1825), and John Sr (b1784)Carrick families. James moved to Dent MO around 1862 and Jacob and Chany followed around 1870. I'm still looking for verification as to who Jacob's father was. I suspect it wasn't Jacob Jr. If anyone has some verification on Chany's surname or Jacob's father I would love to know. *********************************************************** Database: North Carolina Marriage Bonds, 1741-1868 May 4, 2005 10:26 AM Groom: Jacob Redwine Bride: Chany Cornik Bond Date: 14 Apr 1839 Bond #: 000037164 Level Info: North Carolina Marriage Bonds, 1741-1868 ImageNum: 001752 County: Davidson Record #: 01 036 Bondsman: John Cornick Source Information: Ancestry.com, comp.
