I am not at all sure who your ancestor was. However, the fact that he was in Delta Co means that he shuld be related to the Wesley Reed Redus family as they are listed in Delta in 1880 and 1900. However, I could not find a Elijah or Elisha. However, our records do list Wesley as having a son Elisha born in 1851. In the 1900 census there is an Alonzo whom I haven't been able to place either but he is too young to be the same person.
If you can give us some more clues, the Redus researchers can put their heads together and see what we come up with!
