Most of us Reding's spelled with one "d" trace our ancestry to Luxembourg. Reding is still a common name in Luxembourg and many present day Reding's are located near the city of Arlon, Belgium. From some French language sources in Luxembourg I have found that the Reding family has its origins in Meysembourg and a Jean Reding living there in about 1600. There is also a Reding coat of arms in Luxembourg-- a blue background with 4 six pointed silver stars in each quadrant and a gold cross in the middle-- this dates to about 1700.
