There are a large number of the REDHEAD family in the West Cumbria area of the UK. The institute of Molecular Medicine at Oxford University are undertaking Y-chromosome fingerprint tests to establish if we are decended from Vikings or Danes. The West Coast of Cumbria was populated by Norse and Danes invaders in the Dark Ages. The results could be of intrest to anyone on the genealogy trail of the Redhead Family name.
