My name is Don Reddy most of the Reddys in my line were born in Kansas. My father was Jack Reddy, his father was Edward Reddy, his father was James Reddy, James Reddy was born in Moline, IL. He was born August 12, 1858. the only thing I could find in the census records was an 1860 census where there was a James A. Reddy which would have been born in 1858. He was the son of Martin and Marcella Reidy and and they were both from Ireland. From what I understand the Reddys in Ireland pronounce it with a long e so a census taker could very easily mispell it Reidy.
If it's the same James Reddy he had 3 siblings listed in 1860. John b.1852, Ann b.1855, Elizabeth b.1859. Both Martin and Marcella were born 1n 1825. I have no idea what happened to James' siblings and I have no one to ask, my son and I are the last of our line. None of my grandfather's brothers had sons. My father was an only child and I was his only child.
Can you trace any of your family back to KS, IL or IRL?
