Hi Folks,
Two new sets of results from DNA testing have come in since I last commented on the matching results between C.S. REDDOCH & C.R. REDDICK.
First, the second panel of markers 13 through 25 have been reported for C.S. REDDOCH.For his 25 markers, he matches with C.R. REDDICK on 23.A 23 of 25 marker match is strongly suggestive of these two men actually being related. And the test for Mr. REDDOCH has now been upgraded to 37 markers.Once those results are in, then we'll be able to compare them directly against the 37 markers already tested for Mr. REDDICK.If their test results don't diverge too greatly, then we'll be able to maintain that their respective -known- lines are genetically related.
Second, the first 12 marker results have been reported for T.K. REDDICK.He is a -known- cousin of C.R. REDDICK, and their results match exactly on those 12 markers.T.K. is a direct descendant of George W. REDDICK (October 26, 1847 - November 2, 1930) of Walton County, Florida.C.R. is a direct lineal descendant of James W. REDDICK (March 14, 1842 - January 3, 1922) of Walton County, Florida.George W. is the younger brother of James W. REDDICK.Both are the sons of Thomas and Sibby (Sylvia) REDDICK of Walton County, FL.
Of course, this means that at least one REDDOCH line -appears- to be genetically related to one REDDICK line within the southeast U.S.The two REDDICK cousins are closely matched by a REDDOCH not known to be related to them. And that lineage represented by C.S. REDDOCH has now been shown to not match with two other REDDOCHs already tested. So, the REDDOCHs are now split into two genetically unrelated groups.
Future research meant to untangle these mixed lines of r320s will feature DNA testing of distant cousins to the three previously tested REDDOCHs.Also, it is likely that visits will be made to several courthouses spread across central Georgia - as this is likely where an adoption or mis-identification occurred - and so engendered our suprise when C.S. REDDOCH failed to match with the other REDDOCHs and instead matched with a REDDICK having Walton Co., FL ancestry.
Sincerely,
Dale E. Reddick
