According to the Social Security Death Index, there was a DeSaix Redick who was born on June 11, 1900 and died in December 1959.His Social Security Number [234-03-5662] was issued in West Virginia. This appears to be the son of Millard F. and Nena V. Redick.I don't know what Nena's maiden name was.Her name was Williams when she married Millard Redick; however, that was her first husband's surname as evidenced by her children listed in the 1900 census of Toronto, Woodson, Kansas (Delia Williams & Vern Williams). In 1910 and 1920, Millard & Nena were living in Coffeyvillle, Montgomery, Kansas. In 1910, their 10 year old son (DeSaix) was living with them.In 1920, none of their children were living with them.Millard was a carpenter by trade.Millard named his son after his father of the same name who probably died in 1860-1861 in or near Xenia in Bourbon County, Kansas. His mother than married Jesse S. Fitzgerald and had three more children: Ella Fitzgerald, Elizabeth Margaret Fitzgerald (who married Harvey Allen Carmean), and Thomas Fitzgerald. If you have any more info that you'd be willing to share on these familes please feel free to post a reply.By the way, Millard's sister (Mary Josephine Redick) married John Nelson Carmean.John and Harvey Carmean were brothers.
