The Reddicks of the Panhandle of Florida were established there by the families of James D. and Thomas Reddick by about 1845. These r320s were found in Holmes, Walton, and Washington Counties (plus one or two others, if I recall correctly). In 1860 the families of these two men (both born in South Carolina) were neighbors on Alaqua Bayou at Portland and near to Freeport, FL.
For some additional information about the family of Thomas Reddick and his wife Useby (or - Ursela; Sylvia; Sylvah; Siby; Sibby - her name appears with multiple, possible spellings) then visit Annette Reddick Taunton's new webpage. It's still under construction, but it's already useful and contains a short extract from a fascinating story of the American Civil War featuring Thomas Reddick and his young son George.
