Hi,
My granmother was Annie Reddan from Tipperary. I have found 2 origins for the name.
REDDAN An attenuated from of O Rodain. A Dalcassian sept [Dal gCais kingdom - east and mid Clare, Thomond](Ireland). The main family were hereditary stewards to the O'Briens in east Clare.
Reddan - origin Scotland - first found in Roxburgh where they were recorded as a family of great antiquity seated on the lands of Redden in the parish of Sprousten in that shire.

Hope this is of help.
Jennifer
