This is to follow up on the information I have already posted. From Ancestry World Tree Project, I have found that the Joseph Red found on the 1840 Henderson Co. NC census age 40/50 moved before 1850 to Clarksville, Habersham Co. GA where his household is listed on page 333 as follows: Joseph Red 57 )1793)mechanic born NC, Nancy 49, E. female 30, Mo 26 female, B. F. (Benjamin Franklin) 7, A. G. (Arthur Gaston) 5 and Julia #. All born NC. I question the authendisity of the place of birth. To compare this to the 1840 Henderson Co. NC census Joseph Red males 40/50 (1), Females 15/20 (2) 30/40 (1). You will notice that the two females 15/20 would be the E. age 30 (1820) and Mo age 26 (1824). The other children were born after 1840. Nancy could possibly be a second wife after noticing the jump from Mo 1824 to B. F. 1843. Joseph Red is on the 1830 Spartanburg Co. SC census with males 5/10 (1), 30/40 (1) Females 5/10 (1) 10/15 (2) 20/30 (1). According to the World Tree Project, the parents of this Joseph Red is John and Elizabeth Red of Spartanburg. John Red born ca 1768 died ca 28 March 1825 in Greenville Co. SC. Wife Elizabeth no further record. It is my gut feeling that Joseph Red is the brother of my Mary Jane Red who married Robert Thompson of Henderson Co. NC. If so, she would be the daughter of John and Elizabeth Red. Has anybody found a will or estate records for John Red? Or land records? Any help appreciated. Betty Kuykendall Price Notify Administrator about this message?
