Angel Robinson,
After nearly twenty years of research, I have not found a definitive answer to the ethnic ancestry of the various families designated Redbone by some in early Louisiana and Texas.I can tell you that the earliest of my kin who even proached the subject publicly was Clark Ashworth. He identified his ancestors as Moors from Portugal. All other conclusions seem to be speculative and there are many.
My daughter's mother was a Robinson. My former father-in-law was Major Robinson from Alto, Texas.Perhaps you could share some info on the Cherokee/Robinson connection.
