Hi James,

The age is off for William, but I have seen that often in census so am giving this to you in case it is him.

1925 NEW YORK STATE CENSUS, NEW YORK, NEW YORK
BUTLER

William, age 38, salesman, lumber, born U.S.

Renee, age 33, wife, housework, born U.S.

Richard, age 3, son, born U.S.

I see that your William is also listed as a salesman in his 1917 WW1 reg. so ??

also his father was Richard so could he have named a son after him?

I have not found them together after 1925 - and there are too many William Butler men to figure out which may be him , same for Richard Butler boys born about 1922 - and cannot find Renee.

I also did not find William or Renee in 1920 census yet.

The 1880 census shows Butler family in NY city

Richard 28, Annie 25, Emma 7, Edward 4, William 7 months (Nov.)

next door is a Darcy family if you would like that info let me know.

so this puts William's birth at 1879 not 1878 - but I have seen other WW1 reg. records with wrong birth dates so not unusual.

I found Richard and family in 1910 if you want it.

I'm sorry I could not find more.

Carolyn L
