Robert (Bob) Greaves - Toronto, Canada (lookup)

Hi

Help required with Canadian (Halifax, Toronto) census / trade directories etc. lookup to help track a Robert 'Bob' Greaves born 15 October 1875 in Palistow, West Ham, Essex, England. He emigrated to Canada in July 1904 aboard SS Lake Erie from Liverpool to Halifax and then Toronto. He subsequently signed his attestation papers in Toronto in August 1915 signing up for the CEF 84th Battalion and took part in the Battle of the Somme WW1 where he unfortunately was killed in action.

The only fact I have about Robert between 1904 and 1915 is that he knew an M Stillman living at 26 St Joseph Street, Toronto, Ont. and mentioned him/her in his military will. Possibly his landlady (not his wife ...as he was unmarried).

Unfortunately, I do not have access to census records for Toronto etc. ....can anyone help point me in a direction or help search for any records?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Colin Greaves
Hampshire, UK
