I have William Record, born 13 September 1778, the son of Rev. John Record V (about 1750; married 14 October 1773, South Kingstown, Kings County, RI; died 20 February 1819, Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, NY) and Mary Donwell. From http://www.familysearch.org , John Record I (born 1625, Plymouth, Plymouth County, MA; married 31 October 1651 to Esther Barnes; died before January 1684) was the son of Giles Rickard (1597, Taunton, Somerset County, England; married 4 January 1623/4, St. Mary Magdalene Parish, Taunton, Somerset County, England; died 12 December 1690, Plymouth, Plymouth County, MA) and Judith Cogan (born 13 June 1594, St. Mary Magdalene Parish, Taunton, Somerset County, England; died 6 February 1661, Plymouth, Plymouth County, MA). I have no marriage or death information about this William Record. Many of William's twelve brothers and sisters were living in Chautauqua County, New York, by 1840. Chautauqua County's western border with Pennsylvania is fifty miles from the Ohio border. Brother Thomas Record was buried in Eureka, Dakota County, Minnesota, in 1866, and Sister Mary Record Brooks married for a second time (William Ready) in Nashua, Iowa, in 1864. A William Record was living in Smyrna, Chenango County, New York, in 1869. Chenango County was settled predominantly from Rhode Island. I have no birth, marriage, or death information about this second William Record, despite search. Brother Thomas Record had lived in Cortland County adjacent to Chenango County before retirement in Minnesota. Notify Administrator about this message?
