John Record V, also known as John Record, Junior, was born about 1750, He was the spouse of Mary Donwell, married 17 October 1773, South Kingstown, Rhode Island. He was buried 20 February 1819, Bangall, Dutchess County, New York). He is the father of:

John III 6 August 1774
James 6 August 1776
William 13 September 1778
Wightman 31 January 1781
Daniel 10 February 1783
Thomas 19 January 1785
Shepard 20 April 1787
Augustus 15 March 1789
Deborah 14 October 1791
Valentine 19 July 1793
Mary 15 February 1796
Israel 12 October 1798
Seth 17 May 1801

I suggest that you examine the wills of these sons for clues to the pedigree of William Record, father of Bertha Record. Given New England naming practices, William (born 1778) is the most probable ancestor.

The descendants of James, Daniel, Thomas, Israel, and Seth are well known to me and have no appropriate children named William. Valentine died as an infant.

This is an ambitious undertaking.
