The entire text beneath the reference in message 649 is a quote from Jordan (1913).

Answer to query 1: Regarding John III, I understand Jordan to mean by "a son John, of whom further." that Jordan is referring to John IV.

Answer to query 2: Other correspondents have mentioned to me a child Virtue. I have no documentation other than the Jordan (1913) reference. The average New England family size in the 17th and 18th century was 6 children.

Answer to query 3: I have seen the name Whitman and Wightman used interchangeably in this family.

Answer to query 4: I do not know the gender of Valentine Record.
