My father's paternal grandmother was a german Reccius. In the 1950's my father did quite a lot of research concerning the Reccius clan while on a Fulbright scholorship in Germany. Most of his information was from (his handwriting was not great), "extensive stambahme(sic) and narratives at Unterliederbach (primarily on vellum.)"
According to my father's research, the Reccius family can be traced back to a Greek (a Rex) who came to Rome and thence to a Roman campus outside of (now) Frankfurt in early 4th century AD.
If you would like more information please post me .
