I inherited a genealogy from my grandfather (published in 1909) which includes mention of Johannes Reber and has a copy of his original passport (of which I have a translation).
The genealogy states that Mr. James T. Reber of Reading, PA, visited near Langenselbold, Germany in 1882 and found the names of four brothers recorded in the Evangelical Church (Rev. Frederick Hufnagel, Pastor).
These brothers were:
Johan Bernhard
Hans
Johan Conrad
Michael
The oldest son, Johannes Bernhard Reber married Johanna Magdalena (daughter of Conrad Hahn) in 1736 and had two sons born in Germany:
Johannes (Dec. 16,1736)
Ludwig Friedrich August (Sept. 11, 1740)
(died on trip to America)
Being a part of William Penn's colony, they selected some acres 6 miles west of Reading, PA.They had three more sons:
Thomas b. 1746 (of whom I am dscended)
Valentine (date of birth unknown, nothing
known except moved West)
Peter (date of birth unknown, nothing
known except moved West)
I hope this helps.I have more info.
