Reaves in S.C. - early 19th century
- My great grandmother is Mary (Mollie) Elizabeth REAVES (born, July 30, 1871, Indian Territory/Ok; died, March 03, 1926, Amarillo, Potter, Texas) who on November 04, 1839 (in Nacogdoches, Texas) married William Andrew Parr (June 14, 1859, Missouri or Indian Territory/OK; died, June 21, 1912, Kansas; buried Edna Cemetery, Elm Grove TWP, Labette, Kansas).
- Mary’s parents are John Alexander REAVES (born, August 30, 1841, Horry County, South Carolina; died, August 29, 1919, Plainview, Hale, Texas) who married November 24, 1869 (in Nacogdoches, Texas) Martha (nickname: Matt) Conner (born, October 18, 1853; died, August 08, 1910).
- John’s parents are Dimer Washington REAVES (born about 1824, Indian Territory, South Carolina; died, 1847, Rusk County, Texas) and Mary Elizabeth (Betsy) Jordan (born about 1826, Indian Territory, South Carolina).
- Much of the above is based on research by our family members over the last forty years which may not be reliable plus I am abeginner in all of this.
- I have no information about the CONNER or JORDAN ancestry at all.
I would appreciate some information about the Reaves + Conner and Reaves + Jordan union and whatever else the Reaves folks wish to share.Thank you.
