Barbara,
It's been 8 years since you posted this message but just in case you're still out there, I'll answer a couple of the questions you posed in this message:
Hartwell Reaves/Reeves was apparently the son of Frederick Reeves of Bute County NC since Hartwell filed a claim to draw on the RW pension of Frederick after the death of his mother.
Martha and (Nancy) Caroline Reeves who were both married to Granderson Latta were the daughters of John Reeves who died in Wake County NC in 1824.I have a transcription of the deed distributing John Reeves' land to his heirs if you're interested.I also have a transcription of guardian information filed by James Holloway in 1828 for the minor children (includes Martha and Caroline) of John Reeves. James Holloway was the brother of their mother Elizabeth (Betsy) Reeves.
