Dear Nancy,
Well, I have only Marie Anderson's book _The Reasoner Story_ -- which began this thread. Her book shows
"Susanna Reasoner, b. Patterson's Creek, VA; m pre-Sept. 1795, Jonathan Parker, probable son of Nathaniel Parker. Their descendants still live in the Patterson's Creek area."
HOWEVER, Marie lists Susanna as a child of Jacob REASONER and his wife Catherine THOMPSON, and sez further: Jacob's will listed the names of three sons and three daughters...
["will dated 26 Sep 1795 & recorded 20 Feb 1797"] Susanna is among those.
Jacob, in his turn, was the second son of Nicholas R. and Mary Speers: b. ca 1745, d. late 1796 or early 1797, Patterson's Creek, VA. Married Catherine THOMPSON ca 1764. He fought in the Revolution, as did his brother-in-law Peter (my ancestor).
Nicholas R. and Mary Speers had 4 children:
Peter (17 Feb 1743, Va)
Jacob (ca 1745, VA) (mentioned above)
Garret (ca 1747, VA)
Susan (known by family tradition: stolen by Indians at Patterson's Creen and never returned).
That's a brief synopsis of what is in _The Reasoner Story_. There is, unfortunately, nothing about your Susan's (daughter of Jacob) marriage date or place, nor anything at all about her daughter.
I hope this was helpful! My ancestor Peter R. also had a Susan, but it is known that she married a Joseph Dean.
I'm having a similar generational discussion with another of my lines, so I can sympathize with how difficult it is to get records and linages straight on the frontier.
I went to Muskingum County, OH, a couple of years ago, and visited the gravesite of Peter Reasoner and Mary Speers, evidently the uncle and aunt of your Susan. It is still beautiful country, and I was much encouraged to find the graves had markers and were in the quiet countryside.
Take care, and best of luck in your search!

Marjorie, I am related to Susan Reasoner Parker, daughter of Nicholas and Mary Speers.
So you have any confirmation of their marriage and daughter, Matilda Parker Brenton, wife of Henry Brenton. I believe they married in Cincinati, Ohio and later ended up in Pike Co, IN. Any help would be appreciated.
