Hello,

I am a Reaney based in Co.Mayo. As there are very few of us and my father has only one brother, I decided to look on the internet to see if ther were many more and I'm delighted to see that there are.

However, I have been unsuccessful in finding out about the history of the family name and it's meaning even though I live in the heart of what seems to be one of the most highly populated area of the Reaneys (there are 26 in the phone book covering a region with approximately 200,000 people).

If anyone has any information or clues, please e-mail me.
