Yes, Michael Valentine Ream was my Great Grandfather. The records I have say he was born October 11, 1828 in Shanesvilles, Ohio and died February 26, 1887 also in Canal Dover, Ohio. He married Louisa Miller who was born on April 18, 1830 and died November 11, 1904. Parents of Michael were Benjamin and Mary Geisey Ream. As far as I know, Mary Geisey Ream (daughter) married Richard Beatty, but had no children. Homer Ream did not marry and died at age of 40. Michael V. Ream, Jr. married Emma Fletcher, but once again, had no children. Harry Stockton Ream married Florence Emma Crites when he was about 40 years old (my grandparents) and had two children, Harry Stockton Ream, Jr. and my father, Samuel Croxton Ream. I have some interesting correspondence from and to Benjamin Ream, Michael's father. If you are interested, I would be glad to copy the text and send them to you. Michael was a colorful character from what I know of him. I hope this helps you with your search. I am just starting to work on my family tree after a 15 year hiatus. Most of what I have is information I got from my parents papers and Florence Emma's genealogy notes.
