Hmmm...seems my hunches didn't pan out, eh?! I figured that since Reading is a pretty unusual first name (especially to be used in two generations) it had to have some importance as a name to honor a forbear. Linking to Governor Reading's tree made sense to me, and upon finding George's wife Rebecca, figured it could be that they had a daughter by the same name, which I supposed to be Reading Margerum Sr's paternal grandmother.
My Rebecca was born around 1760, but I have no death date. She and William Margerum even had a daughter named Rebecca and a son named George (which further convinced me I was on the right track).
Also, since my Margerums lived on the Pennsy side of the river north of Morrisville, I didn't think it was a stretch for him to have met a gal from Amwell in Jersey...rats...
Maybe there's a tie to Reading, England instead?
Any help you might have would be very much appreciated - I love trying to solve these genealogical mysteries!
