My great-great grandfather was Stephen Reader, born Broadstairs 17 November 1830, married Helen Peart 6 Nov 1852 St. Mary's Church Scarborough. Both are buried in Dean Road Cemetry Scarborough. His bible is owned by our third cousin, John Reader (from Fleetwood) living in Adelaide. The frontespiece confirmed that all Readers living in Scarborough in the 1881 Census are one family. They had thirteen 13 children! I have traced the family back to an Elijah Reader in Broadstairs born circa 1709.
