Hello Rick,

My mother has researched the Reader family name for years. She does it the old-fashioned way, not on the internet. I told her I would go poke around and see I found on the internet. I noticed that your relation, Reason Reader, had a brother named Nathaniel Reader. You note that Reason served in the Confederate Army. I did a search of the Cave Hill Cemetary in Louisville, KY for any Readers. A match was found for Nathaniel Reader. It was noted that because he was a prisoner of war, certain Confederate casualties were not buried in the cemetary proper, but rather in an adjacent lot. These graves were purchased by Confederate sympathizers. In any case, I thought this might be a match for Reason's brother if you track that sort of thing. The only information given for Nathaniel Reader is a follows:

Rank: Private
Unit: I 40 AL INF
Death date: 6/24/1864
Grave & Location: CS Lot 265, #51

Who knows? Could be Reason's brother. In any event, this Nathaniel Reader died as a prisoner of war in Louisville, KY.

Best regards.
