David, do you have anything on Arthur Rea? I'm trying to establish whether or not he was the father of George Rea (born 1801/1806 in Bedford County) and James Rea (born 1795 in Bedford County). I am pursuing a theory that my line comes from James, and that James' son James, born in 1827, is my g-g-grandfather, James A. Rea, who was also born in 1827, supposedly in Cumberland County. I'm thinking the tradition that James was born in Cumberland County may be wrong; that he was born in Bedford County, instead, and came to Cumberland County at about age 23 or 24, in 1850, just before going to Ohio. I know James A. Rea was married to Lucinda Barber in Summit County, Ohio April 11, 1852.
The 1810 census of Pennsylvania shows an Arthur Rea, and the 1820 shows both Arthur and a George Rea. My theory is that Arthur is the father of George, who, in turn, is the father of James Dunlap Rea of Cumberland County.
Gary
