Cheri, I saw that you listed a daughter "Sally" for Benjamin.
I am looking for any information on a Sarah Rea who was born between 1790 and 1793 and married John McCoy on 15 Feb 1810 in Greenbrier County, VA (now WV).
Sarah and John moved to Urbana, Champaign County, OH about 1836. Sarah died before 1850 in Champaign County, OH.
John McCoy and Sarah Rea had the following children:
- HAMILTON MCCOY (1821 VA - )
- MARY K. (twin) MCCOY (31 Mar 1825 Greenbrier County, W/VA - 1896 Oakley, Macon County, IL) m. 9 Oct 1860 Urbana, Champaign County, OH Simon P. Nickey (16
Nov 1832 Frankford Twp, Cumberland County, PA - aft 6 Sep 1904 Macon County, IL)
- JOHN (twin) MCCOY Jr. (31 Mar 1825 Greenbrier County, W/VA - )
- BENJAMIN FRANKLIN MCCOY (1830 Greenbrier County, W/VA - aft 1919 Macon Co, IL) m. 10 Oct 1854 Logan County, OH Minerva D. Helm (1830 near Baltimore, , MD
- 11 Oct 1889 Oakley, Macon County, IL)
- MARTHA MCCOY (1831 Greenbrier County, W/VA - )
- ALICE MCCOY (1834 Greenbrier County, W/VA - )
- CLARK MCCOY (1836 Greenbrier County, W/VA - )
Sarah may have been related to a Malissa (Malessa) Rea who m. 5 Dec 1872 Macon County, IL a John Schrater. [have picture of an older Malissa]
Benjamin McCoy and Minerva Helm had the following children with Rea connections:
- the Hon. James H. McCoy who m. Hannah F. Heath. Hannah was the daughter of George Heath and Melinda Rea. Melinda Rea was the daughter of James William Rea and Hannah Hudsonpiller Hutsonpiller.
- Frank E. McCoy was buried in the Rea Cemetery, Oakley, Macon County, IL after 27 Jan 1901.
Thank You for your time and any information that you might be able to provide.
