Dear Gary,

I live in Kansas, USA. I have an ancestor born in KY (1827) named Robert Rhea, whose father was Jesse RAY born in 1804 in North Carolina, and whose father was James
birth and birthplace unknown. My Robert left us a tale:
that the Rea's lived near the lake of the same name.
That sometime in the remote past a Clan broke into three parts and that the 1/3 people living nearest the lake, then took the name of the lake. HAVE YOU EVER HEARD THIS STORY BEFORE ? Can it be verified.. and wonder what was the name of the original Clan that broke into thirds. My unknown ancestor must have emigrated between 1690 and 1750.
Just curious what you know about Rea's in 1600's & 1700's
Thanks
